non-space

FROM my side to your side

There is a small window that connects my space to the studio space

I become part of the wall furniture, a two-dimensional image, as I peer through the porthole.

I want to interact with the people (audience?) in the studio.

Do something that makes them aware of an action-taking place, but is hidden.
Something sent from the none-space to the space.

eat / work in non-space.

I dont have a work space in the studio anymore.
I have decided to adopt this non-space.

A group of people sit eating lunch in the studio.
I’m also eating my lunch
Behind the board in the non-space

I am eating with them, but we are very separate.

I can here their conversations; they talk about a film I have also seen.
I could join in but I don’t.

I work out some ideas in the space,
I can here the murmur of exchanged thoughts,
But there is no other distraction.

I don’t have to worry about other people, this is my space.

reading PERFORM by Jens Hoffmann and Joan Jonas

Some parts that STOOD out:

LOCATE, EXPLORE and bridge the gap between art and life (kaprows key ideas)

'art that would begin to observe, interpret and engage with the social, cultural and political circumstances of the world it was made for and exposed to'

PERFORMANCE = infinitely open and unrestricted (?)

'The notion that work is an irreversible process ending in a static icon-object no longer has much relevance'
ROBERT MORRIS

Fischli and Weiss

re-placing objects
giving them new meanings
new relationships
